Govind Steel Company Limited is a 61 year old company which has continually grown to become one of the largest and leading foundries for Grey Iron Castings and Ductile Iron Castings in India, with an installed capacity of 24, 000 MT. The foundry is Family owned and is into its 3rd generation of management. It is situated on the highway at Rishra about an hour’s drive from Kolkata, India and spreads over an area of 25, 000 square meters with its own Railway siding, overhead cranes and other handling devices. While catering to the domestic market in the field of industrial and Decorative castings, castings for the housing sector including sanitary castings, heavy castings such as Bottom Plate, Counterweight and Ingot Moulds, it also accepts challenges to cast as per the design and specifications provided by the client. Over the years, the company has steadily maintained its foothold in many foreign countries and prides in exporting Sanitary castings, to the USA and Canada including orders from the City of New York ,USA, and to Germany, Belgium, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, France, Poland, UAE, Qatar, Oman etc. The manufacturing unit is fully equipped with melting facilities, cranes, metal hoppers, and a chemical and physical laboratory including destructive test machines. GOVIND STEEL also has a versatile pattern shop with some of the most skilled pattern makers in the country that can make even the most intricate patterns according to the customers’ specifications and drawings. Its moulding and casting shops can make a variety of castings ranging from 1kg to 20,000 kgs. a piece. It has its own modern machine shop to give a perfect finish to its products.
